easy 5-ingredient locker snack mix - featured image

A quick and easy snack mix made with just five simple ingredients: pretzels, Chex cereal, honey roasted peanuts, M&M’s, and white chocolate chips. Perfect for school lunches, lockers, or any on-the-go snacking.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups pretzel twists
  • 2 cups Rice Chex cereal
  • 1 cup honey roasted peanuts
  • 1 cup M&M’s
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Gather all ingredients on your counter. Make sure pretzels aren’t crushed.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, add 2 cups pretzel twists, 2 cups Chex cereal, and 1 cup honey roasted peanuts. Gently toss together with your hands or a wooden spoon until evenly distributed.
  3. Sprinkle in 1 cup M&M’s and 1/2 cup white chocolate chips. Gently fold into the mix using a gentle folding motion to avoid crushing the chocolate.
  4. Check the balance: take a small handful and ensure there’s a good ratio of all ingredients. Give another gentle stir if needed.
  5. Transfer the snack mix into an airtight container or portion into individual resealable bags (about 1/2 cup each).
  6. Optional: Let the mix rest for 5 minutes before sealing to allow white chocolate chips to soften slightly and create subtle stickiness.

Notes

For best results, use fresh ingredients. In humid weather, pretzels may soften faster; store in a cool, dry place and consume within 3-4 days for maximum crunch. The mix actually improves after a day as flavors meld. For a crunchy drizzle version, melt 1/2 cup white chocolate chips with 1 teaspoon coconut oil, drizzle over mix, and refrigerate for 15 minutes.
