A festive and easy-to-assemble Halloween charcuterie board featuring a unique candy corn cheddar cheese mixture, perfect for parties or spooky snacks.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, finely grated
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup candy corn
  • Pinch of nutmeg or cinnamon (optional)
  • Assorted savory crackers (water crackers, wheat thins, etc.)
  • Sliced meats (prosciutto, salami, or turkey)
  • Fresh fruit (grapes, apple slices, or pears)
  • Dark chocolate (chocolate-covered pretzels or chunks)
  • Olives (green or black)
  • Nuts (almonds, walnuts, or pecans)

Instructions

  1. Finely grate 1 cup of sharp cheddar cheese using a box grater or food processor.
  2. Place 4 oz of softened cream cheese in a small mixing bowl. If cold, microwave for 10-15 seconds to soften.
  3. Add the grated cheddar to the cream cheese and mix with a spatula until sticky and cohesive. Add a teaspoon of milk if too dry, or more cheese if too wet.
  4. Fold in 1/2 cup of candy corn. Leave them whole for texture or pulse briefly if a smoother mix is desired.
  5. Take small portions (about 1 tablespoon) of the cheese mixture and roll into balls.
  6. Shape into pumpkins by flattening balls and using a toothpick for vertical ridges, or shape into teardrops for ghosts and add olive slices for eyes.
  7. If not serving immediately, chill shaped cheese on a plate for 15 minutes to firm up.
  8. Arrange crackers on a large platter or board.
  9. Place clusters of shaped candy corn cheese on the board.
  10. Fold and place sliced meats near the cheese.
  11. Add olives, nuts, grapes, apple slices, and chocolate pieces around the board to fill gaps and balance colors.
  12. Serve at room temperature.

Notes

Ensure cream cheese is fully softened to avoid lumps. Do not overmix candy corn to prevent a sticky mess. Balance sweet and savory elements on the board. For best results, use sharp cheddar for flavor contrast. The board is best served at room temperature.
