  • Gouda or smoked cheese (6 oz)
  • Pepperoni or salami (about 4 oz)
  • Prosciutto (3-4 slices, optional)
  • Mini pretzels (about 1 cup)
  • Ritz crackers or butter crackers (about 1 cup)
  • Baguette slices (about ยฝ baguette)
  • Candy corn (about 1 cup)
  • Chocolate-covered pretzels (about ยฝ cup)
  • Mini peanut butter cups (about ยฝ cup)
  • Green grapes (about 1 cup)
  • Apple slices (1 apple, sliced thin)
  • Dried cranberries or cherries (about ยผ cup)
  • Fresh rosemary or sage sprigs (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Pick your board and bowls. Place small bowls or ramekins on the board first, one in the center for candy corn and one off to the side for chocolate pretzels.
  2. Add the cheese. Place cheese blocks or cubes in different spots around the board for visual balance. Use cookie cutters if desired.
  3. Layer in the meat. Fold pepperoni or salami into small piles and tuck between cheese. Tear prosciutto into ribbons and drape loosely.
  4. Fill in with crackers and pretzels. Arrange crackers and pretzels in clusters around the board, near the cheese for pairing.
  5. Add the fruit. Scatter grapes and apple slices in gaps between cheese and crackers.
  6. Fill the bowls. Pour candy corn into the center bowl and chocolate-covered pretzels into the other bowl.
  7. Add the finishing touches. Sprinkle dried cranberries or cherries in small clusters. Tuck fresh rosemary or sage sprigs between cheese and fruit for a green accent.
  8. Step back and adjust. Fill any empty spots with extra crackers or grapes. Ensure candy corn is visible.

Notes

Don’t overcrowd the board; leave space between clusters. Keep candy corn separate to avoid flavor transfer. Use room temperature cheese for best flavor. Prep fruit right before serving to prevent browning. The board can sit out for about 2 hours at room temperature.
