Creepy, knobby witch finger pretzel rods made with white chocolate and almond slices. A fun and delicious Halloween treat that’s quick to make and perfect for parties.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 24 pretzel rods
  • 12 ounces (about 2 cups) white chocolate chips or melting wafers
  • Green gel food coloring
  • 24 sliced almonds
  • Optional: red decorating gel, black sanding sugar, edible googly eyes

Instructions

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or wax paper.
  2. Melt white chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until smooth (about 1.5 to 2 minutes).
  3. Add a small amount of green gel food coloring to the melted white chocolate and stir until evenly distributed, aiming for a pale, sickly green.
  4. Holding one pretzel rod at the end, dip it into the green white chocolate, leaving about an inch at the top uncoated. Let excess drip back into the bowl.
  5. Place the coated pretzel rod on the prepared baking sheet. Repeat with remaining pretzel rods, spacing them about an inch apart.
  6. While the chocolate is still wet, press one almond slice onto the tip of each pretzel rod, pointed end outward, to create a fingernail.
  7. Transfer remaining green white chocolate to a small piping bag or zip-top bag with a tiny corner snipped off. Pipe small, irregular bumps along each pretzel rod to create knobby knuckles (3 to 4 per finger).
  8. Optional: Add red decorating gel for ‘blood’ drips or black sanding sugar for dirt.
  9. Place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for 15 to 20 minutes, or until the chocolate is completely firm.
  10. Serve immediately or store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.

Notes

Don’t overheat white chocolate; it burns easily. Work in small batches to prevent chocolate from setting. For best results, use gel food coloring instead of liquid. Almonds provide healthy fats and vitamin E. Not suitable for nut allergies; use candy pieces or frosting as a nut-free alternative.
