These Easy Mummy Hot Dog Bites are a quick, fun, and delicious Halloween snack made with hot dogs, crescent roll dough, and mustard. Perfect for parties, they come together in just 20 minutes and are always a crowd-pleaser.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package (8 count) hot dogs
  • 1 can (8 ounces) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • Yellow mustard (for eyes)
  • Optional: cooking spray or melted butter (for brushing)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or a silicone baking mat.
  2. Cut each hot dog crosswise into two equal pieces to get 16 pieces total.
  3. Open the crescent roll dough and unroll it carefully. Without separating the triangles, use a sharp knife or pizza cutter to cut each triangle lengthwise into 3 thin strips (about 24 strips total).
  4. Take one strip of dough and wrap it around a hot dog piece, starting at one end and working to the other, leaving a small gap at the top for eyes. Do not wrap too tightly. Repeat with all hot dog pieces.
  5. Place the wrapped mummies on the prepared baking sheet, leaving about 1 inch of space between each.
  6. Optional: Brush the tops lightly with melted butter or cooking spray for a golden finish.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until the dough is golden brown and cooked through.
  8. Let the mummies cool for 2-3 minutes on the baking sheet. Using a toothpick or small skewer, dip it in mustard and dot two tiny eyes on each mummy.
  9. Serve immediately.

Notes

Work with cold dough to prevent tearing. Don’t overbake; dough should be golden, not dark. Add mustard eyes after baking to keep them defined. For a crowd, double the batch.
